Construction/Project Management Firm

A small construction company with about 30 employees contacted Assured Safety after their training manager left. The manager also had responsibility for H&S. After discussions and an assessment of the operational needs- the company decided to work to a safety plan based on a review of safety policy. Assured Safety were appointed to do site visits 2 days each month throughout their various sites.

Asbestos Incident

Assured Safety was contacted following an incident in a boiler house which resulted in a primary school being closed for several weeks. With feelings running high in all areas, Assured Safety listened to all the parties concerns, including parents and teaching staff. A strategy was then agreed to satisfy these concerns. It worked. The necessary measures were put in place and the children were able to get back to school.

Facilities Management

A facilities management group for a local authority department recognised it was failing to achieve standards in health and safety performance. They contacted Assured Safety who helped identify several factors contributing to the outcome. Such factors included poor management information flows on risk assessment and control measures.  Using the organisation's intra-net system a simple online assessment programme was developed. Online training and support was made available. The knock-on benefit was that the same idea could be used for a wide range of Facilities Management areas.

Education College

A sixth form college wanted support in ensuring staff were clear on health and safety responsibilities. They contacted Assured Safety who developed a morning workshop as part of an ‘inset’ training day tailored to the needs of staff. An audit of the current system was undertaken and a list of recommendations provided for the Principal and Board of Governors to shape strategic direction.
