Safety at Work
Services

'Competent Person'  - Under UK law* employers have a duty to ensure they have competent safety advice. Where this is not sufficiently available internally, it is often helpful to seek external support - such as Assured Safety and Health, a registered Occupational Safety & Health Consultantcy (http://www.hse.gov.uk/oshcr/index.htm). You can relax knowing that you will be treated within a framework which reflects IOSH professionally agreed standards.

* Regulation 7 of the Management Health Safety At Work Regulations 1999 - (1) Every employer shall,…appoint one or more competent persons to assist him in undertaking the measures he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed upon him by or under the relevant statutory provisions and by Part II of the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997.

SME’s – ‘Safety Management Service’  -  having someone in the background to provide support is often reassuring. As such we offer  ‘Safety Management Service’ package, tailored to your needs. It’s like having your own Health and Safety manager on a ‘timeshare’. A minimum package might look like this:-

• Telephone / Email support –

• Competent person cover
Provided at a small monthly cost – this provides basic yet reassuring Health and Safety cover for most SME’s. You can obviously vary the amount of time or cover you require.  Call us to find out more- 020 8873 0976

Risk Assessment  - An essential aspect of H&S for any employer, risk assessment is a structured look at activities in the workplace. By identifying who could be harmed and how, then further identifying measures to minimise the chances of this, risks can be eliminated in the first instance. Obviously this has benefits to everyone if undertaken effectively. We aim to ensure you have risk assessments that are both suitable and sufficient to your needs. Call us to find out more- 020 8873 0976

Fire Risk Assessment  - Under current legislation (England & Wales), the employer is often the ‘responsible person’ in terms of fire safety, and as such obliged to make a “suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks….. for the purpose of identifying the general fire precautions he needs to take..”   We help you through this process taking into account your unique circumstances and thinking through your particular requirements. Working to identified standards we provide you with a thorough assessment covering all aspects of your workplace. We can support further with developing and training staff in the necessary procedures. Call us to find out more- 020 8873 0976

Emergency ProceduresDepending on the size of your organisation – it may be necessary to develop a set of general emergency procedures which cover many sites, many scenarios yet maintaining clear priorities.

Insurance investigationFollowing a significant loss incident, insurance companies will be quick to ask for information against a possible claim. They may decide to withdraw future cover or increase premiums sharply. There are tight deadlines to be met following any claim being made. Having clear, accurate information with which to respond provides a necessary level of protection you may need. It allows you to engage in constructive discussions and provides the reassurance both they and your company might need. At these delicate times, having a competent source of advice and support is essential.  Call us to find out more- 020 8873 0976

Safecontractor / CHAS applications  - Many SME’s find that they are required by a principle contractor to be registered against a recognised accrediting body like Safecontractor or the CHAS database.  Others may aim to achieve this as a useful badge to demonstrate high standards of professionalism and commitment to working safely. These applications are often searching and detailed. With our broad experience of dealing with suchlike bodies, we are able to take the sting out of the process. Call us to find out more- 020 8873 0976
